The facilities for First Baptist Church were spread over five structures across a full city block with automobile traffic dividing the campus in half. The master plan developed a strategy to consolidate the support activities of the church, add a fellowship hall, and reinforce the scale and rhythm of the street. The fellowship hall reinforced the importance of the original sanctuary while providing a new exterior courtyard and connection to the original narthex. The scale of future facilities diminishes as the distance from the sanctuary increases making the transition back to the residential portion of the street.
