Martha Jefferson Hospital required a new home for their executive offices. The main floor of the original 1890's hospital building was selected as the appropriate location. Renovations to the building required that old clinical space be converted to modern administrative spaces with finishes appropriate for executive offices. The long abandoned front entrance was re-created on the north facade of the original building with the stairs, doors, and millwork responding to details from original photographs. The interior layout accommodates offices for the Cheif Executive Officer, his staff, and support personnel. The main conference room was located in a former glassed-in porch with a custom designed conference table. Interior millwork and finishes were coordinated with the existing palette of materials developed for the remainder of the hospital. In conjunction with the renovation of the Executive Offices two other floors of the original hospital were redeveloped into clinical space for a psychiatric ward and research space for a number of physicians and their staff.
